Workshop Agenda

The Hudson River Watershed Alliance invites watershed groups and collaborators across the Hudson Valley to join us for an interactive half-day workshop focused on advancing locally-led watershed characterization, planning, and implementation. The workshop will be held in-person at Vassar College’s new conference center at the Heartwood, with a hybrid option available for the presentations for those who prefer to attend virtually.

Whether you are just getting started, developing a plan, or supporting plan implementation, this workshop is designed to help you clarify priorities, strengthen partnerships, and prepare for the next step.

The morning session will highlight practical watershed planning frameworks, regional case studies, and funding and technical resources that support local watershed efforts. A key focus will be watershed characterization as a foundational step that builds shared understanding, and positions groups for effective planning. The morning session will be available to attend virtually, via Zoom.

After lunch (provided), in-person participants will work together to apply what they’ve learned and identify clear next steps for their watershed work.

This program is designed for watershed groups, municipal representatives, students and academic partners, local and regional nonprofits, and anyone interested in participating in or supporting a watershed characterization or planning process.

Join us to build knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and leave with actionable strategies to advance watershed planning in your community.

This Project has been funded in part by a grant from the New York State Environmental Protection Fund through the Hudson River Estuary Program of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
