How you can help!
Fiscal Sponsorship is a financial and legal system by which a legally
recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit provides limited financial and legal
oversight for a project initiated independently by a group. That
“project” might be a one-time project or an organization that does not
have its own 501(c)(3) status. Once sponsored in this way, the project
is eligible to solicit and receive grants and tax-deductible
contributions that are normally available only to 501(c)(3)
organizations.
HRWA is fiscally sponsored by the
Open Space Institute, Inc.,
based in New York City, as part of their
Citizen Action Program
and your donations will go to OSI to fund our Project.
The Open Space Institute, Inc. was incorporated in 1974 under section
402 of the Not-For-Profit Corporation Law of New York and is a
tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the
U.S. Internal Revenue Code. All contributions to the Open Space
Institute, Inc. are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. A
copy of our latest financial report may be obtained by writing to OSI or
the New York Department of State, Office of Charities Registration, The
